We Fear and Go Astray When We Forget God Loves Us

We Fear and Go Astray When We Forget God Loves Us

Some time ago God showed me the reason we fear and go astray is that we forget that God loves us or that we don’t know He loves us.

And last night I listened to a preacher say that we go astray when we forget God loves us. Same thought.

I think that is the main reason for the problems believers have. If we really believed that God truly loves us then there would be no worries. There would be no fear. There would be no reason to go astray looking for what we think we need. It seems to me that we are to live every minute of every day wrapped in His love. But we forget.

Think of it. Why would we want to ___________. You fill in the blank that means something to you, and I will do the same. Maybe it is jealousy, anger, unclean thoughts, alcohol, etc. Now what is at the bottom of that desire? Then go a step further to discover the reason for that.

Do you see that the need to be loved by the Infinite, Eternal One that created us is at the bottom of all our searching? It was placed in us when He made us in the womb. Until we realize our need is for Him and from Him, we will live our lives trying to fill that need. Some do life fairly well, but I assure you there is still an emptiness that is always deep inside.

O God of love, open our spiritual eyes to see Your incredible and everlasting love for us. Many have a difficult time believing that they could be loved by anyone let alone by Almighty God. Amen

Words to light your path this week

  • Colossians 2:10 and you are complete in Him.
  • John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”
  • John 15:9 As the Father loved Me I also have loved you; abide in My love.

  1. Thank you for this encouragement, dear sister. You are now in my blogroll (fotorieth, Pixabay).

I love that you are sharing the 3 Bible verses! Especially the first one! Paul, is encouraging the believers in Colossae to remain rooted in Christ and to not be swayed by false teachings. How amazing it is that Paul wrote that in Christ, we have been made complete and that Christ is the head of all rulers and authorities.

How do you find your completeness in Him, (rather than in any human philosophy or tradition) when there are difficult things in you life?

    1. Aritha, Learning to trust God with what we’ve committed to Him is a process. Step by step learning. There are many promises, but are they simply nice sounding words? That’s what we have to decide. I’d say pursue God. Seek Him and His kingdom first. And above all, know this, He loves you, specifically. You. He answers your prayers because He loves you and likes doing nice things for His children. This is something I’ve learned. Trust Him. Love His Son. 2 Tim. 1:12, John 14:21. It is helpful to write on a slip of paper what you commit to God and put it in an envelope. When you begin to worry about that situation, go take it out of the envelop because at that moment you have claimed responsibility for it. If you leave it in the envelop it is in God’s hands. There is so much more I could say, but you might check out some previous posts. Blessings
