Deep Cleansing – A Prayer
Could you use this prayer?
O Lord, I need a deep cleansing. Search all the forgotten places where I’ve buried what I didn’t want remembered.
It is lying there in the dark like mold. Spots and stains. Sores and fractures in my soul. Those fleeting memories that bubble to the surface of my memory when all is quiet.
Go back through the years and expose to Your holy light the sins I have not dealt with, have not admitted to, have not confessed. I’m tired of hiding my sins. I’m done with pretending all is well when I know it isn’t.
It is not a pretty sight. You do not do this to shame me, but to show me what needs cleansed and healed. You will cleanse me. You will heal me. Only You can cleanse from all unrighteousness. All.
The choice to allow God to cleanse
If I don’t allow You to go deep within me, I keep those festering sores, the mold, those fractures in my soul.
It is my choice. Today I choose to allow You to go deep within, to cleanse me deeply. I take time to sit before You allowing You to explore the inner depths of my soul. I hide nothing.
With Your loving arms, O Lord, hold me snug while You take me through this difficult time. The length of the process I don’t know, but I ask for perseverance and patience.
I can allow You to do this only because I know You love me, wish to cleanse me completely and make me whole. Amen
Oh, the joy of being clean!
