Prayer – Going Deeper
Prayer
Do you struggle with prayer? What is prayer? Would you like to go deeper?
Prayer is:
- Worship – adoring the holy, incomprehensible One
- Conversation – two-sided conversation
- Sharing – we sharing our thoughts and concerns with God and He sharing His thoughts and concerns with us.
Prayer is more than asking and giving thanks. It is communicating. It is sharing your inner most thoughts with your closest friend. It is your Friend sharing His innermost thoughts with you.
God wants to share His heart with you. What a privilege! His thoughts will never contradict the Bible. Rather it will bring emphasis to and enlighten His written word.
The Trinity is a fellowship. The three persons of the Godhead live, move, communicate and act as one unit. They move in and out of each other, distinct personalities, yet one at the core.
Invitation to join
We have been individually asked to join them, to be one with them, to be part of their group, to be part of their conversation. Jesus said in John 14:23, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” Paul tells us in Romans 8:11, “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…” So the Spirit lives in us too.
All three live in us. One, yet three separate entities. We are joined in fellowship with them. What an awesome privilege.
So go for a walk and talk with God. Share with Him and let Him share with you. All day long you can talk with Him.
Words to light your path this week

- 1 John 1:3b and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. NKJV
Prayer – Awesome God, I want a deeper communication with You than simply petitioning You. Amen
