Our Plans/God’s Plans
Sometimes, we have plans and dreams, but they might not be what God wants so they are our responsibility. Remember this, He loves you. He wants you to be His friend. Let’s let go of what we think we need or want, or what we think are His plans for us, and let Him lead us each day however He wants. Let’s not put Him in a box. Let’s put no restrictions on Him.
We might think we know what is best. However, our wisdom is but foolishness to Him. His ways are above our ways. His thoughts above our thoughts.
As we go about our day, let’s keep our hearts tuned to Him, being aware of His nudges, His soft voice. We will soon develop a keen awareness of Him.
Our plans or God’s plans
Can we be content to walk with Him not knowing what tomorrow may bring? Can we be content to allow Him to use us however He wants each day without clinging to anything?
Sometimes we think we are given a ministry like an assignment. Let’s hold on to it lightly. He might want it for only a day. If we view it as an assignment, then we assume it is up to us to make it happen. That is not His way. Let God work it out each and every day.
Jesus had no plans
Jesus is our example. He had no personal plans. He had no personal words or works to carry out. He only said and did what the Father wanted Him to do each and every day.
He told us that our ‘job’ was to abide in the vine. That might be the hardest of all. It is simple but difficult. We want to do. We want to plan. We want to say. He says, “Abide in me.” Can we allow Him to work out His purposes through each of us as we abide (live) in Him? See John 15:1-11.
God’s plans for us
He can’t be boxed in by our preconceived ideas. He wants freedom to live through each of us so that His purposes can be accomplished. Think of the church worldwide. Most are busy trying to live like they should, trying to make a ministry happen. All He wants is yielded lives. Pliable clay in His hands. He wants complete freedom to carry out His plans each day as He wishes.
We can’t do it. That would be in the flesh. Our efforts, our resources. He wants to use us. Will you allow Him to work through you?
Be careful of allowing someone to tell you that you have such and such ministry. Jesus told us what to do—abide in Him. It is very simple. Being told that we have a ‘ministry’ puffs up the flesh.
Walk with God. Be His friend. Allow Him access to your life at any time. You will be surprised what a joy it is to serve Him.
You will find a life free of anxiety because the plans are not your plans. You won’t worry when it becomes His responsibility.
Words to light your path
John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.
John 8:28-29 So Jesus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me. And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.
John 7:16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
