God’s Son

God’s Son

Our eternity rests on our response to God’s Son. He is the center of the universe. God’s Son is the center of His world. Each person’s eternal destiny rests on our reception or rejection of Jesus, God’s Son.

That alone, nothing else. Not being a good person, not being better than someone else. Not living a sacrificial life. Not volunteer work. Not even dying as a martyr. Nothing else matters. Nothing!

Receive or reject? Nothing else determines our future. Not going to church or dressing a certain way, not following certain rules or preaching a good sermon, etc.

Wow! That simplifies it.

Ultimately nothing else matters. Only one thing. One. Single. Simple. But so much hangs on that one thing.

What have we done with Jesus? That is all God is concerned about. Our eternal destiny hangs on our response to His Son. Our choice. Do we receive Him to be to us all He wants to be? Or do we ignore Him?

The Gospel of John tells us that those who do receive Jesus will be given the authority, or the right, to be called a child of God. And that promise is to no one else.

In fact, the last verse of John 3 tells us that those who do believe in Jesus with a heart belief, not a mental belief, will have life. Those who do not,  live under God’s wrath. That is how important our response to God’s Son is to God the Father. All are welcome. He wants all to come and receive His Son, but will not compel anyone to come. He leaves it up to us.

We decide where we will spend eternity, not God. No one is to blame but ourselves. I pray we choose wisely. If you do not understand this, ask God. He will help you see how important the Son is to the Father and how lost we are without Him.
