Devotions – A Different Perspective
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. NKJV
Do you have difficulty making time for devotions? Has it become a religious duty that you should do? Do you know He wants you to come and share with Him?
It isn’t just a time of dutifully reading a little and saying your prayers. Oh no. It can be so much more. He wants it to be so much more.
He wants you to realize He is waiting for you. That persistent whisper to your spirit from His Spirit that He is waiting for you to recognize His presence.
A place to run to when you have a few spare minutes throughout your day. Not just a designated fifteen minutes. But often. Even just to say a few words or hear from Him.
Sometimes you can’t get away privately but you can take a minute to commune with Him in your heart. In the private room or garden in your heart. He is always available.
He longs to be wanted. He waits for you to come sit with Him. It will take persistence on your part to develop that close relationship, but soon it will be second nature to you and will be as necessary as breathing. You too will have a longing in your heart that you feel you must have at least a few minutes with Him.
This is what you were meant for. Communicating with your Creator. Worshiping Him. Sharing your heart with Him and when you open the scriptures He shares His heart with you. Oh, yes. Sharing with You.
Holy Spirit, show us how the Father longs for us to spend time with Him in communion, our spirit with His Spirit. Amen
