O Lord, I  approach Your throne of mercy trusting only in the merit of Jesus.  But You ask me to come,so I come. 

We listen to sermons, we read our Bible and try to be holy. We do our best to live right.  And yet…

And yet we are lonely.  Lonely for You, our Creator.  We have earthly friends and family.  But there is a deeper need. A deeper emptiness.  Nothing and no one can fill that need except You. 

In all of our Christian life, going to church, having devotions, etc. is not enough.  We are still lonely. Most don’t realize it or acknowledge it. We stay busy.  We comfort ourselves with our Christian activities.

But You, it’s You our hearts long for. To know You. We know all about You, but we long to know You. 

Even if we don’t recognize it, we are lonely for You.  

Blessed Lord, may we take time to sit in Your presence or take a walk with You. Teach us how to know You. Amen
