Key to Answered Prayer pt.2
Last time I shared a little about knowing God loves you is a key to answered prayer. Today I would like to share how I found this to be true.
August 2019 My oldest brother called with news that another brother had been in an accident and was not expected to live. I hadn’t seen that brother, Les, in 50 years, but I had been praying for his salvation for quite a while.
I continued praying for him that God would somehow intervene on his behalf. I just knew that was what I needed to do.
Then, I got the dreaded call that he had died. So I went for a walk to talk with God. I just didn’t know what to think. My heart was breaking.
After expressing my grief to God and my soul quieted down I spoke words like these. “God I know You are good. All You do is good. Your judgments are righteous. You are God; I am not. You know what spiritual state my brother was in. I must trust You. You are just and good.
When I quit speaking to God, He spoke back to me and said “I am compassionate too.”
I was overwhelmed and nearly collapsed on the street. In those words, I knew God loved me and had answered my prayer because He loved me. Yes, He loves my brother. But God was speaking to my heart and about why He was answering my prayer. He let me know that He felt the pain of my breaking heart and answered my prayer not just for my brother, but because He loved me.
In the above picture I can take you to the area of the street where God spoke to me and I nearly collapsed overwhelmed by His love.
Do you see? Faith is essential, but I believe it is faith in God’s love for us. If you once knew that God loves you, life will change.
Prayer – Most Loving Father in Heaven, I pray that Your children will know that You love them. Amen
