One Spirit With Christ
God “indwells” our spirit if we have been born again. His goal is to make us one with Him. Remember what Jesus shared with His disciples? Both John and Paul give us the details. Here is a list of references:
I wonder…do we allow Him to live in us and through us? Maybe we just see Him as our helper as if He is in us to help us live rightly. To help you understand this concept, may I suggest each day this week you take one of the references from the above list and marinate in that truth.
Our natural way of living
Our default setting is our abilities, what the Bible calls “flesh”. We live. We speak what we want. We go where we want. We think what we want to think. Most are our natural reactions.
- Our natural inclinations
- Our natural characteristics
- Our weaknesses
- Our strengths
Making room for Christ
According to the Bible, Christ is in us (see the Colossian’s reference above). What if we scooted over (inside) to make room for Him? There are two beings now living in us. Are we in control of our life or do we allow Him the driver’s seat? He the most important one and we the less important. Do we believe this? Does our life show it? Do we submit our plans, even ordinary plans to Him? He wants to live His life through us. What He needs is the opportunity.
What happens to us happens to Him. Do we understand this? Our stress level will drop if we allow Him to live for us.
Words to light your path
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me
Ephesians 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith
Lord Jesus Christ, You are the important one. I am less important. Seeing you as the most important One will help me make room for You. Help me remember this as I live each day. Remind me to make room for You and let You live through me. You are so much better at living the Christian life than me.
