Surrender – Key to Abundant Life
God asks us to give up things to surrender, not to deprive us, but to encourage us to let go of them so we can receive from Him the only thing worth having, that is, Himself, His life in us.
He is the only thing worth having. Surrender all to Him and, in turn, receive all from Him.
Initial surrender
Once we surrender our right to anything, we are free. We can trust Him to provide all we need. We can trust His love for us. No one loves us as He does. John 3:16. God so loved that He gave...And Jesus loves us as the Father loves Him. John 15:9 As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
Let’s not be fearful, but trust our Heavenly Father.
He wants us to abide in Him receiving all we need for life from His resources. Why does Jesus want us to abide in Him? John 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
Continual surrender
Let’s live a life of continual surrender in the light of His smiling face. Psalm 89:15-16 Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long. And in Your righteousness they are exalted.
Heavenly Father, all the things that hold our attention are nothing compared to You. May we understand it is the deceiver that is keeping us from surrendering to You making us afraid to let go of the seen to receive the unseen. As we receive the unseen life of Jesus, our life takes on a new dimension. His presence adds a sparkle to our lives. Thank you, Amen.
