Redemption was God’s plan from the beginning, and it was to be complete. When God redeems us, he redeems all that is our lives – past, present, and future.

All of our past? Redeemed

Yes, all of who we have been, what has happened to us and what we have done. Complete redemption. He bought all our sins and cast them as far as the east is from the west, and we have no business digging up the past. He has bought it and thrown it away. Now, we aren’t to go digging through the garbage. He doesn’t remember our sins. I encourage you to ponder that awhile. Check out how to get washed clean from your past. 

All our present? Redeemed

Yes, all of who we are now, what we are doing, and what is happening to us now. Try starting every day by remembering that you have been redeemed. God wants to take care of today. Won’t that make each day special? Won’t that make each difficult day easier?

All our future? Redeemed

Yes, all we will do, who we will become, and what will happen to us. The future can be a scary place. Just remember this, God has redeemed you for all time. He has redeemed you tomorrow, next week, and next year. Forever. In a month when you get up, you will still be redeemed. In a year, you will still be his. His precious child. His responsibility.

He redeemed everything about you.

He left nothing undone. There is nothing that you need to pay. There is no part of his forgiveness that you need to earn. There is nothing that he left for you to fix. He left nothing undone. It is but for us to admit we are poor in spirit and unable to live like he teaches.

What was the price? The life of his Son. Such love! What he does, he does well and completely.

Is a redeemed life trouble-free? No. But when trouble does come our way we can go to God, our Father, for whatever we need. We have been redeemed. Our entire life has been redeemed. Go to Him and accept this gift

Backslider?

Have you wandered away from God? Backslid? Feel like you failed God? Isaiah 44:22 says, “Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.” Why would he say that if he didn’t mean it? There are many references where God is pleading with his people to return to him. Here are a few: Jeremiah 3:22,  Isaiah 55:7,  Zechariah 1:3.

Please return to him, but this time let him live through you. Draw from his resources. Your resources are inadequate, but his resources are sufficient, more than enough. Wish you had his strength? You do. Allow him to live through you. Admit you can’t do it. Let him completely redeem you – all of you, the good the bad and the ugly.

Titus 2:14 “who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. “

1Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

Romans 3:24 “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
