Lost?
Can you hear God’s voice?
“I waited patiently for the Lord, and he inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.” Psalms 40:1,2
Have you lost contact with God?
Does He seem far away? Is it a scary place? It may seem like a dark pit.
You may not know how to get back to Him. Maybe you don’t know how to regain the peace you once had. Did you ever have the peace that comes from God?
A very scary place to be.
It is very easy to lose contact with God. All we have to do is not listen to His still, small voice. If we continue to not listen, eventually we will not hear His voice at all.
Do you want to find your way back Him, to a sure faith in Him? I encourage you to simply go to God and simply stand before Him as long as you have time. Just stand before Him, allowing Him to see you. Wait in His presence.
Allow Him to speak to you. He wants to, you know. Most of the time we don’t take the needed time to listen. We live life in a hurry. Other voices have our attention. Voices of the media, books, friends, etc. Even the voice of the great deceiver himself or his evil slaves doing their best to tear down our faith and get us to leave God.
There is a battle for your soul. Believe me, it is a very real battle and your spiritual welfare is at stake.
So I encourage you to stand before God prior to going to bed, before you go to work, or any other time you can routinely take this first step. Even for five minutes. Just stand there aware of His presence. Do this as often as you can. Day after day. Acknowledge who and what you are (He already knows). Open the Bible and read a psalm. Or go to an online Bible and read a psalm.
If you do this, you will soon anticipate His presence and begin to listen to Him. He wants you to share everything with Him so He can bring healing and cleansing to your whole being. He wants you to return to Him, and to your new life in Him.
Words to light your path –
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God.
Isaiah 44:6 I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.
Lamentations 3:25 For the Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
Lord God, help us to not be in such a hurry and our lives be so full that we don’t have time to sit with You.
